Wow, HUGE congrats to El Cajon’s very own Circle Garden for a tremendous opening this past Saturday, the 23rd!
The garden’s Sandy Hood writes the following:
“The Grand Opening Ceremony of our Circle Community Garden was a fun and huge success! Over 100 attended and enjoyed the fellowship, activities, drawings for prizes, refreshments and ribbon cutting. El Cajon City Councilman Tony Ambrose presented Pastor Steve with a city proclamation. San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob was there with her policy Advisor Janet Downs. Ed from Armstrong Garden Center handed out tomato plants and answered gardening questions along with master gardener Joyce Gemmell.
Joining in on the community spirit we were surprised when two residents of Pacific Springs, a senior residence, brought over two huge platters of cookies to share.
Many new gardeners were signed up.”
Keep it up!
1. Cute cake =)
2. The 4 “Circle garden engineers” left to right: Mike Parks (SA), Mike French(FP), Jack Pape(SA) and George Williams(FP). These four did most, if not all, the work including design of the garden, soil preparation, building plot boxes and hauling in the soil. They will be finished with the irrigation system by March 1 and you will then see a very active garden!
